Stuffed Jalapenos Peppers

August 19, 2012 by Ariel 12 Comments

Planning a dinner party?  Here’s a fun and EASY appetizer your guests who like spicy food will jump on!

** IMPORTANT ** Cutting Jalapenos peppers will BURN YOUR FINGERS!!  The best trick I have found is rubbing alcohol or Hand Sanitizer in a pretty big quantity, then wash your hands with soap… don’t do like me and wait for two full day wondering why is your hands burning that much… it’s awful! lol

– INGREDIENTS –

3-4 Fresh Jalapenos peppers

1 tablespoon of Goat Cheese

1 tablespoon of light cream cheese

1 teaspoon of Dried Thyme crushed

2 teaspoons of Milk

1/4 teaspoon of Lime juice

Parmesan cheese for topping

1- Pre-heat your oven at 350.  Cut your peppers in half (length wise) to end up with a cut little boat shape easy to stuffed.  Empty the middle part with a spoon and a knife before putting them on a parchment paper then on a baking sheet to cook them for 10 minutes.

2- While the peppers are in the oven prepare your stuffing, mix all the ingredients together except the Parmesan cheese.  Once you’re peppers are out, stuffed them and sprinkle a bit of Parmesan on top.  Cook for another 10 minutes.

3- Then bring your oven on BROIL and let them cook for another 3-4 minutes or till the top is brownish.  Watch out because if you cook them too long they will spill over.  Let them cool down a bit and serve warm or cold with a mini piece of fresh Thyme on top as decoration. 🙂

Goat cheese isn’t available where I live. Can you recommend a cheese to substitute for? Feta? Cheddar?

      Hi Denis 🙂
That’s sad that you cant find any goat cheese where you live because it’s beyond delicious and has a very distinctive taste.
As a substitute… from what I can read online, people have been trying a mix of feta and ricotta 🙂 although the taste of the final recipe might differ slightly from what I made, I’m sure it’s going to be delicious!

Please come back to let me know how it turned out 🙂

Glad you liked them Alexandra 🙂
…the reason to add the milk was to create a smoother paste since my cheese was really firm. It’s just enough to help it become smooth and easier to spread inside the peppers 🙂

Wonderful appetizer that I have made multiple times for friends! While I love spicy foods and will even enjoy eating a jalapeño whole, I strongly urge using gloves while handling the jalapeños.

The mix of spice and savory cheese and cream is the perfect combination.

Thank you for making me the hero of my nerdy circle of Dungeons & Dragons players whenever I make this!
